Animation projects and assignments done this Fall Semester of 2019

Motion Graphics Digital Animations

This first animation I created was a class exercise to practice the concept of layering footage and how to make different components move or change in Adobe After Effects. We used a combination of objects designed on our own in Adobe Illustrator (in this case, I illustrated the plane and made 2 rows of ovals to represent the speeding cars), and images from google to make a Day to Night Cycle. For this assignment, I photoshopped the sky out from a cityscape of Shanghai, and placed it into After Effects on top of a set of images I’ve individually worked to move and rotate in the program, to make the sky go from a night to day to night cycle. I’ve scaled and moved the position of the plane little by little, across the cityscape. I did the same with the speeding cars, except I lowered the opacity to make them disappear instead of making them continuously get even more smaller. I overlapped the same cityscape twice, slowly increasing and decreasing the opacity of the altered gray cityscape look, to the other more vibrant-look, to also make the appearance of the city change with the day and night.

Studio Photography Stop Motion Animations

The following clips were produced for my studio photography class. The first one was produced as an exercise/introduction to stop motion animation. The second one was produced to submit as my final project.
